It was a great honor to receive the endorsement from the Milford Daily News today. Here is what the paper had to say:
Roy for state representative
The exit of Rep. Jim Vallee, D-Franklin, from the Legislature has left large shoes to fill and inspired a hard-fought contest to succeed him in the 10th Norfolk district.
Jeffrey Roy of Franklin won the Democratic primary. An attorney, Roy is a Franklin Town Council member and served 10 years on the Franklin School Committee, nine of them as chairman. He knows the district well, and has experience with statewide issues, including the School Building Assistance program (he helped guide planning for the new Franklin High School), public transportation (he rides the Franklin line daily) and the criminal justice system.
Richard Eustis, an attorney from Medway, won the Republican primary. Eustis is an intelligent and reasonable alternative for those who favor the Republican approach emphasizing tax cuts, deregulation and limited government.
Roy’s years in municipal government give him a decided edge in experience. His confidence that activist government can help businesses, communities and residents all prosper together leads us to offer JEFF ROY our endorsement.
